I am attempting to develop the Family Tree of Lewis W Rentfrow and Nina Chapel Rentfrow. I am their Grandson, son of Robert Stanley Rentfrow and Charlotte Basel Rentfrow. The information on the Rentfrow side is very complicated, even with the assist of ancestory.com. At one point Lewis and a brother lived with their grandmother.(1900 census) I recently obtained a copy of the death certificate of Lewis W Rentfrow who died June 08, 1952. It lists his birth as August 08, 1883, Father as Milton Rentfrow, Mother as Mamie Corey, and Wife as Nina. At the time of his death he was listed as Widowed.
I have a copy of a page from the Family Bible sent to my father by my Aunt Winifred Rentfrow Burbank June 11, 1958 listing the births of Lewis and 2 brothers? as well as the births of 4 of Lewis and Nina’s 6 children.
I would like to locate the Rentfrow Family Bible, or any other pertinent information, to determine if any information exists prior to the birth of Walter Scott Rentfrow on September 14th 1878.
Search update, while searching Ancestry.com located Granddaughter of Winifred who writes “I remember this Bible as larger than average, with a carved wooden cover, the last I heard it was given to the youngest child of the Rentfrow family, Lewis Rentfrow” …….” who sold the farm in Wisconsin in the 60s and retired to California, Winifred gave the Bible to his twins”
